LOCATION:
Alcatraz
Prison Museum - National Park is located out in the middle of San
Francisco Bay, on Alcatraz Island, which is next to Angel Island. The
water is very cold and the currents are very strong, making it a great
place for a prison. Tours for Alcatraz Island are available. Reservations
are a must, call: 415-546-9400.
HISTORY:
Alcatraz Prison was originally a military
prison, from 1859, when its construction was started, until 1933 when
the Federal Bureau of Prisons made Alcatraz a federal prison, to be the
harsh and unpleasant home for the most problematic, hardened inmates.
Suicides and murders were common, and the conditions at the prison were
severe, stark and under a very strict rule system. Uncooperative behavior
could land a prisoner in solitary confinement, or in the dreaded steel
boxes. The prison was closed on March 21, 1963, because the 1859 - 1912
buildings were crumbling, and it was too expensive to haul all that was
needed there from the mainland. It is now a national park, open to the
public through taking a tour.
MANIFESTATIONS:
Occurrences have happened, and impressions
& entities have been felt in the areas of the prison's worst tragedies,
and areas of great pain & distress.
1) Block C Utility Passageway -
(A 1946 bloody uprising happened here). A national park employee heard
loud, clanging noises, but the sounds stopped when he opened the door.
When he closed the door, the loud, clanging sounds started up again.
2) Hospital Ward for the Maimed,
Crazed Prisoners - Voices have been heard by park personnel.
3) Blocks A & B - Park personnel
have heard loud screams, running footsteps and crashing sounds.
4) Infamous Cells in 14 D were where
the solitary confinement cells & steel boxes were kept. These cells
are described as being the eeriest. The temperature in these cells is
always very cold, and psychic people have felt intense impressions,
with the emotionally stronger impressions being in the corners where
punished prisoners crouched and suffered.
  
5) Block C - 9/5/84 - While on night
duty, Ranger Rex heard the loud, jarring sound of a heavy door swinging
back and forth. After investigating, Rex found no logical explanation
for the noise.
Psychic Research:
The park system authorities decided
to bring in a medium, Sylvia Brown, along with an ex-convict of Alcatraz,
Leon, and a CBS news team to record the findings. The laundry room gave
off impressions of violence to Sylvia and she encountered an unseen presence
in there, and described him as being tall in height, having a bald head
and little eyes. Leon identified the unseen presence by this description
alone as being a prisoner known as "Butcher," who had been a
hit man for organized crime, and had been murdered in the laundry room.
Sylvia Brown decided to try to free
Butcher so he could go to the other side. During a seance in the prison
dining room, it was communicated to Butcher, through Sylvia's Spirit Guide,
Francine, that there were others on the other side that would be able
to help him, and that he should follow Francine to the other side. Butcher
flatly refused to believe that anyone would help him and chose to stay
in the prison, still incarcerated though being long dead. Some day, Sylvia
hopes to come back and try again to set Butcher free through another seance.

Entities are still serving their
time, despite given parole by death to the other side.
